Active Type P Reamer is used in trenchless technologies for installation of pipes using directional drilling rigs with teleoptical guidance systems.
Reamer is used at the final stage of drilling during the installation of the final pipe for increasing the diameter of the hole from the diameter of the intermediate casing pipe (Ø406mm or Ø508mm or Ø550mm) to the diameter slightly bigger than the final pipe. It scoops the soil in front of it and pushes it to the receiving pit through the intermediate casing pipe.
The reaming is carried out by pushing the reamer into the ground bu the drilling rig’s hydraulic cylinders while the reamer’s hydraulic motor drives its conical auger and spins the column of augers inside the intermediate casing pipe. The soil that gets in the frontal apertures of the reamer is being directed ti the receiving pit through the augers inside the intermediate pipe.
The hydraulic drive of the reamer can be used with several sizes and external diameters of the P-type mechanized reamer system.
